We are delighted to announce that Denise Kirwan, Partner and Head of our Child Care Department has been appointed as an Independent Director of the Irish Association of Social Workers (IASW) in June 2024. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Denise on this notable achievement and wish her and the IASW Board of Management continued success.
Denise is a highly regarded solicitor with over 25 years’ experience in child and family law. She is an active member of the Child and Family Law Committee at the Law Society of Ireland and is regularly invited to speak at events and provide training for public bodies and health professionals. Additionally, she lectures on the Masters in Social Work program at University College Cork.
Denise’s expertise encompasses a wide range of matters, including applications under the Child Care Act, the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court, and inter-jurisdictional applications under the Brussels II Regulations. She also has specialist experience in Adoption, Juvenile Justice, Special Care and the High Court Wardship jurisdiction.
