On June 24th, in association with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease in Ireland (EOPD), CKT hosted the first in a series of informative talks for EOPD members.
The talk titled: Empowering Decisions: Navigating the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act informed attendees on how to take control of their future with expert guidance. Michelle Cronin, Partner, CKT and Kate Russell, Solicitor discussed the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act and its vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to make informed decisions about their personal welfare, property, and affairs.
Topics discussed included:
- Decision Making Assistance Agreements
- Co-Decision Making Agreements
- Decision Making Representative Orders/Status of Wardship
- Enduring Power of Attorneys
Attendees gained valuable insights and practical advice tailored to the needs of those with Early Onset Parkinson’s Disease.
Currently over 18,000 people in Ireland have Parkinson’s Disease. EOPD aim to assist people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers, health professionals and other interested people by offering support, a listening ear and information on any aspect of living with Early Onset Parkinson’s.
